Huntingdon Valley Presbyterian Church (HVPC) is a church of small groups, not a church with small groups. The Bible tells us the early church met regularly in the temple courts for worship, but they also met in each other's houses for prayer, fellowship, and study. So that's what we do.

We encourage everyone to engage with a small group to facilitate growth, maturity, and connection. This ministry is vital to the spiritual growth of the church as it provides an opportunity for folks to study the Bible more in-depth and get to know other folks in the church. We are always looking for members who are willing to host a small group or lead a group by teaching or coordinating a group.

Most of our small groups meet in the homes of members. Some meet at the church. To learn more, visit us on Sunday or contact the church office (215-947-5500, office@hvpc.org).

Also, be sure to check the Events calendar for dates and times. Most groups break during the summer months and resume meeting in the fall.

We currently have these active groups:

 

  • Anchored Bible Study – The next meeting date is February 27 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Deb Jack’s house, 3405 Buck Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Contact Deb Jack: 215-260-4564 jackfam5@comcast.net.
  • Circle of Hope – Next meeting is February 23. Circle of Hope meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each meeting, the group watches an episode of The Chosen and then discusses. Contact Judy Scott: 215-500-2747 jtscott2022@comcast.net.
  • Miriam Circle – Next meeting is March 12. This women’s Bible study small group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the church lounge. Contact Pat Sarajian: 215-485-0184 sarajian@comcat.com.
  • Daughters of the King – Next meeting is February 18. This hybrid Zoom and in-person group meets the first three Wednesdays of the month from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Contact Charlene Crawford: 267-279-9858 godlydiva@aol.com.
  • Presbyterian Stogie Society – Next meeting is February 23. This cigar-friendly men’s group meets every other Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Ungerman Barn, 2nd floor. Contact Jordan Goretti: 610-554-0259 creelowns@gmail.com.
  • Valley Youth Group – Next meeting is February 27. Youth Group will meet every other Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Contact the Church Office: 215-947-5500 office@hvpc.org.
