After you park your car and come through the red doors, you will likely be greeted by a few people. If it’s your first time, you'll be given a brown paper bag with some goodies in it. Included is a welcome booklet containing a diagram of the building to help you find your way around. If you have children, please feel free to situate them in the nursery or our Burning Bush program.
Once you get your bearings, step into the sanctuary and grab a cup of coffee; the coffeepots are in the back. An usher will hand you a bulletin which will have the order of service for the day plus lots of other helpful information. Find a good seat – up front is always better! – and settle in for a sweet hour of worship.
The service will have music, prayers, scripture readings, and preaching. On the first Sunday of each month, we share the Lord’s Supper.
What’s the style at Huntingdon Valley Presbyterian Church? We take God seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. People are relaxed, friendly, not too stuffy. The pastor wears a suit and a tie, but he’s usually the only one who does! At least in the early service. Wear whatever feels comfortable.
After each service, people tend to hang around and talk a good long while. There is Sunday School for all ages between the two services beginning at 10:15 a.m.
Here is our normal* Sunday schedule:
- 9:00 a.m. - Contemporary worship in the Sanctuary.
- 9:00 a.m. - Burning Bush children’s church in the Boyer Auditorium (goes until 11:00 a.m.)
- 10:15 a.m. - Adult Sunday School in the Lounge. Youth Sunday School in room 308 on the second floor above the Boyer Auditorium.
- 11:15 a.m. - Traditional worship in the Sanctuary.
Nursery care is available.
*Periodically we hold combined services at special times. These will be posted on the Events calendar.
